For the ninth consecutive year, a mobile meal packing event coordinated by Feed My Starving Children will be held in LaGrange County. Space has been reserved at the new Michiana Event Center in Shipshewana September 10-15 with the goal of packing one million meals. Organizers are currently working to raise over $200,000 to cover the cost of the meals (less than 25 cents per meal). Donors are assured that more than 90 percent of local donations goes directing to feeding children.
Registration for the 2018 event opens July 30 and donations for the meals are currently accepted. To reach the one million meal goal, 5000 volunteers will be needed to help pack the food. Individuals ages five and older are welcomed to participate in the two-hour packing shifts. An adult must accompany any volunteer under age 18.

How do I register to pack?
Starting on July 30th, go to FMSCMichiana.com or call 260.562.2505 to register yourself, your family, or a large group for one of our shifts.
How long is a shift?
Shifts are approximately 2 hours.
What is the minimum age for volunteering?
The minimum age for volunteering is 5 years old. Everyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Do I need to arrive early for orientation?
Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your packing session to check-in.
Are your sites handicap accessible?
Yes! Each site is accessible and has a job for everyone!
Are we supposed to wear any particular clothing?
We recommend closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothes, and no jewelry.
How much does the food cost?
Each meal costs less than 25 cents to make.
How much of my donation goes to the food?
FMSC devotes more than 90 percent of total donations to feeding kids.
